Maxwell Street Mumea - Early Electric Blues - Corner Store
MUMEA Early Electric Blues - CORNER STORE
Small Amp Dup Recordings - CD
Corner Store is a collection of small amp duo recordings rooted in the early electric blues tradition. Recorded live with minimal equipment and a focus on time, feel, and restraint, this project reflects the sound and approach of late 1940s–early 1950s Chicago blues — where the guitar supports, the groove carries, and space is part of the music. Performed as a guitar and drum duo, these recordings are built around a controlled, natural volume — never louder than an upright piano — allowing the character of the instrument and the touch of the player to define the sound. This is not a modern interpretation, but a return to a foundational approach: simple structures, direct tone, and depth over excess.
